Constituency: Parents and carers
Term of office: 2024-2027
Who am I?
As a parent, I have known Alder Hey since 2012. In that time, two of our children have received life-saving emergency care at Alder Hey. Without those interventions those two children would not be with us today. Professionally, I am currently employed in a senior IT role for a large, local Social Housing provider.
It is difficult to begin to explain the gratitude we will always have for Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. For some time, I have wanted to be able to give something back to Alder Hey, and some of my personal and professional skills will enable me to do that as a parent governor.
What do I bring to this role?
In my professional role I am actively involved in the delivery of a number of IT projects that will positively impact the safety and lives of families and children in our local communities. This role requires me to assess systems, processes and reduce risk.
I have undertaken a Governor role previously in a local primary school which included memberships of all committees (Finance, Staffing, Premises, Curriculum and Achievement) and I held the position of vice-chair of the Finance committee.
I believe that my professional skills at an IT architecture level, coupled with my experience of school governance would be an excellent fit for Alder Hey. I am willing to learn, to collaborate but more importantly to challenge. Above what professional experience I can bring, I think the biggest attribute I would offer is a passion to give something back to Alder Hey and the communities it serves.
