Congratulations to the Alder Hey Arts for Health Programme team, who last week won the Health and Wellbeing category at the LCR Culture and Creativity Awards.
The awards were held on Thursday 6th March in the Floral Pavilion, New Brighton. We were one of five organisations shortlisted for a LCR Culture and Creativity Award – Health and Wellbeing. The other organisations were:
- Heart of Glass – The Suicide Chronicles
- Liverpool Philharmonic Music and Health Programme
- The Autism Wellbeing Project CIC
- Wellbeing Enterprises CIC: We Connect Social Prescribing
Alder Hey’s Arts for Health Programme, dedicated to enhancing patient care through creativity, received the Health and Wellbeing award, illustrating the powerful connection between art and health. We work in partnership with many of the leading cultural and arts organisations in the region to bring the very best of arts practice and our programme supports over 10,000 children and young people each year whilst they are under our care, through a range of creative interventions both in the hospital and in the community.
“We were absolutely delighted to receive this award which recognises the innovation and quality of our arts programme and how this makes a positive impact to the children and young people in our care. We are proud to play a part in supporting so many children and young people by bringing the best of arts practice into the hospital space and by supporting our amazing creative team to do this important work. We are grateful to Alder Hey Children’s Charity and other funders for making this work possible.”
Vicky Charnock, Arts Manager
Congrats to the team and everyone involved with the Arts for Health Programme for this amazing achievement!
