The Alder Centre provides a range of training courses and continuing professional development workshops, designed for anyone involved in helping relationships who is looking to develop their knowledge and skills. Our courses are delivered by qualified and experienced trainers who are themselves working in the subject areas and are therefore able to draw on their experience to enhance the theoretical input and student understanding.
We have a range of free and affordable training and awareness sessions to meet your needs and can also tailor packages depending on your circumstances or profession. We are able to cover a range of topics covering the spectrum of child bereavement, grief and loss and can be delivered at The Alder Centre or offsite. Training can vary from an hours basic awareness session to half a day, full day, a couple of days, to our 30 hours accredited courses.
We currently a 30 hour course in Understanding and Working with Child Loss and Bereavement in Counselling and Helping Relationships.
This course is designed to encourage the development of reflective practice.
In addition to the above we also offer accredited training for volunteers delivering our Child Death Helpline.
