Mabel suffers from a rare autoimmune chronic disorder called psoriasis, which presents itself with painful plaques on her skin which spread across her body.
During bad flares, Mabel has had to come into Alder Hey to be cared for in full body bandages 3 times a week.
Despite all of this, she’s a delightfully happy baby and enjoys shouting “Hiya!” and “see you soon” at strangers!
She’s always smiling, and nothing gets her down. She is quite simply our hero. We feel so lucky to have this hospital and the wonderful staff at our doorstep.”
Mabel’s mum
She has also been learning Spanish and British Sign Language since she was 10 months old and is absolutely thriving in both areas.
