Constituency: Parents and carers
Term of office: 2023-2028
Who am I?
I am a passionate and proud professional who has worked in Children’s Services for over 20 years, leading services to ensure that all children and young people live the life they deserve. My current role is Change and Integration Director working across Children’s Services across local authorities and Health.
The reason I want to undertake this role is to champion and celebrate the voice of the child. I am a wife, daughter, sister, friend and mum of three wonderful children and recognise how challenging life can be at times!
My daughter underwent a major operation in 2019 when she was 5 years old and continues to be an outpatient of the trust. I will never forget the care, compassion and love from everyone at Alder Hey right from her consultant to the ladies serving breakfast who enhanced her experience in an immeasurable way and ensured she was at the centre of everything.
I grew up 5 minutes from Alder Hey, regularly played in Springfield Park and as a child probably took it for granted. As a parent and a Health and Care professional, I am blown away at how fortunate we are to have this resource in our community.
What do I bring to this role?
I want to give something back to the kindness Alder Hey as always shown me and protect this indispensable resource. The skills I would bring to the role would be challenge, scrutiny and asking the ‘so what’ question not only to maintain current standards but ensure they are the very best!
