Stakeholders for Education
Appointed 2022
Who am I?
I am the Principal of St. Vincent’s School for Sensory Impairment in West Derby not five minutes from Alder Hey. I also live right by the Hospital. I have three sons and am very much ‘into’ climate and biodiversity action.
What do I bring to this role?
I live right next to Alder Hey feeling very much part of the Alder Hey Community and am aware of local issues which may impact the Hospital. My specialisms surround education with specific reference to SEN and visually impaired children and young people. I have a background in both engineering and in creative education focussed into innovation/ research / design connecting with opportunity and employability of vulnerable young people. I am committed to the inclusion of SEN pupil and parent voice championing climate and biodiversity action as the medium to connect communities. I feel my skills across education, health and wellbeing, safeguarding may be used to serve and support both parents and children through their time at Alder Hey, and beyond. Simultaneously, being very proud of this significant resource in our City, I am eager to support the most incredible staff across their chosen vocation and the Chair in the collaborative delivery of her vision for Alder Hey. My ‘added value’ would seek to support the innovation and best practices nurtured and developed at the Hospital for the best possible child and parent outcomes alongside that of Alder Hey’s world leading staff.
