NHS Pension Scheme
All NHS employees are auto-enrolled into the NHS pension scheme on joining Alder Hey. Your monthly pension contribution rate will be based on your pensionable pay (Cost of being in the Scheme | NHSBSA). In addition, your employer pays an additional 20.6% of your salary into each month. For example, if you earned £1000 p/month (gross), the Trust would pay an additional £206 into your pension.

- A range of healthy food options in the hospital with staff discount (15% off when you show your ID badge) in the canteen including vegetarian, Halal and Kosher food options.

- The Staff Lottery draw takes place once a month and currently there are ten prizes paid each month.

- Cycle to Work Scheme: You can participate in the Alder Hey Cycle to Work Scheme, choose your bike and accessories from participating retailers and pay monthly through your salary with a discount of up to 42%.

Celebration and recognition

- The Alder Hey Star of the Month award is a new way for everyone to come together, to share the incredible achievements of our staff and to say thank you for everything you do
- Staff with 25 years or more continuous service at Alder Hey/NHS are eligible for a long-service award. A minimum of 10 of those years must have been worked at Alder Hey to qualify
- Staff who are due to retire are entitled to a retirement gift of a Frank Green watercolour print of Alder Hey.
- WageStream will provide employees with the ability to track and access wages as soon as they’ve completed their shift.
