Visitors to our Emergency Department will notice that there are some slight changes to where you go and where you park when you visit.
You can still access our Emergency Department via the usual entrance on Eaton Road (L12 2AP on sat navs). However, parking for the department has been moved and as such you will be directed by a member of our parking team (wearing a high vis jacket) to the new parking area.
Immediately to the right, you’ll find the drop off zone. Please use this area to drop off for the Emergency Department and not the approach up to the barriers.
For parking, follow the road around until you arrive at the new Emergency Department car park, which is clearly signposted.
Please note
- The Emergency Department car park is Pay and Display. The pay machine only accepts coins for payment (no card payments can be made). The cost is £3 for 4 hours of parking.
Once you have parked, you need to walk back the same way you drove in (back towards the entrance barrier) to access the Emergency Department.
Notice
Please do not walk toward the ambulance entrance, as this area needs to remain accessible to ambulances at all times.
These changes are due to the start of enabling works on our new Surgical Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, which will feature 18 individual family rooms for parents to call home and be alongside their newborns whilst being cared for here at Alder Hey.
Find out more about the new unit below.
We thank you for your patience and apologise for any inconvenience that these works may cause while we continue to enhance our Children’s Health Campus.
