Alder Hey In The Park To Be Officially Opened By Her Majesty The Queen

21st Jun 2016

Alder Hey in the Park will be officially opened by Her Majesty the Queen, accompanied by HRH the Duke of Edinburgh on Wednesday 22 June.

alder-hey-experience.jpgHer Majesty accompanied by the Duke will take a short tour of the new hospital before unveiling a plaque to officially open the new facility.

The hospital will continue to operate as normal on Wednesday and the safe, effective care of our patients and families will remain our priority.

Where can we watch the visit?

Members of the general public, who are not visiting for an appointment, are asked to wait outside the building at the East Prescot Road entrance. This is a great opportunity to watch our Royal visitors arrive and leave, and the weather forecast is currently good.

Please be aware that we are expecting this to be a busy time and we would advise arriving no later than 1.30pm.

If you are not visiting for an appointment, please do not enter the hospital building or use the Alder Hey car park. Space will be extremely limited and our patients and families will need to access the building for appointments.

If you are visiting because you have an appointment, please be aware that filming and photography will be taking place inside the hospital building and outside the East Prescot entrance of the hospital. If you have any concerns about being photographed please speak to a member of the Events team on arrival.
