Tune into BBC2 on Thursday 10th January at 9pm to see the first episode of the series featuring Alder Hey’s neuro surgery team.
Hospital was filmed by Label1 tells the stories of patients and staff at Alder Hey along with stories from the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, the Walton Centre, the Liverpool Women’s Hospital, Aintree University Hospital and the Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital.
Shown from multiple perspectives, the series will show the complexities of the decision-making that consultants, surgeons and managers face every single day, and the impact these decisions have on our patients.
Against the backdrop of historic demands, increasing patient numbers and social care at full stretch, the series will show the extraordinary work of some of Liverpool’s 20,000 NHS hospital staff as they push the boundaries of what is possible with world class, cutting edge treatments and life-saving operations.
Alder Hey will be featured in a number of other episodes covering our neuro surgery team, cardiac service, SDR and oncology
Louise Shepherd, Chief Executive of Alder Hey Children’s Hospital said: “We are delighted that this series of Hospital is able to highlight the outstanding work we do with Children and Young People.
Liverpool has many challenges and these start early, with adult health influenced by how we work to provide care and support in the early years. I am really looking forward to seeing the outstanding care our staff provide receiving a real focus on a national platform.”
