If you watched the recent episode of BBC's Hospital then you'd have seen one of our consultant paediatric surgeon's Professor Simon Kenny.
Also a professor at University of Liverpool, Simon has worked at Alder Hey since 2003. His surgical interests include minimally invasive paediatric surgery & urology & he has research interests in regenerative medicine & long-term outcomes in paediatric surgery.
Since 2017, Simon has been national clinical lead for paediatric surgery in Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) programme & is a clinical adviser & board member of the National Clinical Improvement Programme (NCIP). Simon chairs the Clinical Outcomes Committee of the British Association of Paediatric Surgeons & is a patron of the Hirschsprung’s disease charity CHAMPS. In 2019 he was appointed as National Clinical Director for Children & Young People for NHS England.
