Alder Hey hosted a Pre-Employment coffee morning today.
The Trust invited over 60 local unemployed people to the event, with the aim of sharing information about Alder Hey’s Pre-employment Programme, which has been running since 2017.
During the event, our visitors were given the opportunity to speak to staff from the Trust, previous programme representatives and staff from Job Centre Plus, to help them make an informed choice whether to apply for the next programme, which starts in Sep 2019.
The Pre- Employment programme offers a 10 week placement for un-employed people across various departments, working in clinical and non-clinical roles. The Trust works in partnership with Job Centre Plus and Crosby Training, preparing people to become job ready, providing them with valuable skills to assist them when applying for roles in the NHS.
Individuals who have completed the programme have expressed immense gratitude and delight for the programme – they all described how they were made to feel welcome and part of a team in the departments they were placed.
Collectively, they have expressed how this pre-employment programme has impacted positively on their career aspirations – it has empowered them all into being NHS employees
