On Tuesday 23rd July 2019, CarFest made a pit stop at Alder Hey, so our patients and families could get a little taste of the action.
CarFest is getting ready to take over the North West this weekend, with their fantastic festival in Cheshire set to wow the summer crowds.
But before that, they decided to pull into Springfield Park, directly behind our hospital, to allow patients and families who may not get the opportunity to attend the festival to get a feel of what CarFest is all about.
It was a beautiful summers day on the park and people came in their droves to meet a giant a lego man, play with bubbles, sit on a real-life police motorcycle and, of course, see some wonderful cars!
CarFest CEO, Chris Hughes said; “ We want to say an extra special thank you to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and Teenage Cancer Trust for all of their amazing support throughout this project, as well as all of the children, young people, family, friends and carers that each took some valuable time out of their day to join us!”
There was also some live music and a fantastic entertainer to ensure all of our patients had something to pique their interest.
A wonderful time was had by all and we're very much looking forward to our friends at CarFest visiting us again in the future.
