A Face Like Mine

A Face Like Mine

We know that a visit to the hospital can be stressful. We also know that seeing ‘a face like mine’ can be comforting, particularly for children. Seeing or coming into contact with someone you can relate to, through a shared cultural background, can be immediately calming, and can help to settle those jangling nerves.

That’s why, at Alder Hey, we’re committed to increasing diversity across the Trust. We want to actively encourage people of Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic backgrounds to apply for roles at Alder Hey; and we want to inspire children and young people from those same backgrounds to consider our wonderful NHS as one of their possible futures.

Let us tell you a story...

Hear the stories of some of our current Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic staff; learn about what they experienced on their journeys to Alder Hey and how they think their background has affected them.
