On Friday 10th May, Alder Hey celebrated International Nurses’ Day, the day for people across the planet to appreciate the difference made, every day, by those skilled, committed and caring individuals who can proudly call themselves nurses.
International Nurses Day is celebrated around the world every 12th May, as this day is the anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth.
International Nurses Day at Alder Hey
There were a number of stalls set up in our atrium providing advice, support, guidance and inspiration to colleagues, highlighting the myriad different ways nursing as a career and a profession together provides outstanding care and treatment, including:
- Alder Hey teams from CAMHS, Learning Disability and Autism, Oncology, Neurosurgery
- Practice Education Facilitators
- Our university partners Edge Hill, Liverpool John Moores, and Chester
- The friendly local NHS Professionals team
- Volunteers
- And more!
There were live music and performances, including from some our own nursing teams, as well as the always popular Charlotte Tilbury stand.
Romesh Ranganathan wishes Alder Hey staff a happy Nurses’ day!
