About the Institute in the ParkCar Parking
Please note: There is a height restriction of 2.2 metres for our multi-storey car park.
The hospital has a multi-storey car park which is open 24/7 and has 1184 spaces, including 52 spaces for blue badge holders situated on the lower ground, 1st floor and 2nd floor, as well as 14 electric charging points for electric vehicles. Please ensure your blue badge is clearly displayed.
Blue badge holders are not required to pay for parking.
Charges for parking are applied at an hourly rate. These tariffs bring us in line with the parking charges already in place at other local hospitals:
Time | Charge |
---|---|
0 to 30 minutes | FREE |
30 minutes to 2 hours | £3 |
2 to 6 hours | £4 |
6 to 8 hours | £5 |
8 to 24 hours | £7 |
Paying
We are now using automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) at our multi-storey car park. When you arrive, you will be let in automatically (or issued a ticket if your vehicle registration is not picked up).
To pay for your parking, simply pay at the pay station situated in the atrium. Enter your vehicle registration number and the charge for your stay will be displayed. You can pay for your parking in cash or with a debit/credit card.
If you are a Blue Badge holder, please have this to hand to scan on the exit barrier.
Any income generated through parking is used to cover any costs incurred to run and maintain the multi-storey car park. Any remainder will be invested back into our hospital services.
Overnight/long stay patients
For frequent outpatient visitors, parking will be provided free to all those who come to our hospital for an appointment at least 3 times within a month, and for an overall period of at least 3 months. A ‘month’ is defined as a period of 30 days.
Please report to concierge desk to log your vehicle details.
Drop-off and Taxis
There is a drop-off section on East Prescot Road, which can be used for pick-up and drop-off only. The maximum wait time in the drop-off area is 20 minutes. Taxis can also be taken from here.
Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles
To avoid issues with accessing the multi-storey car park, please use the entrance on Eaton Road and park large wheelchair-accessible vehicles there. You’ll find several WAV parking bays on your right-hand side as you turn in, just outside of our Institute building.
