Medication Review Clinics are scheduled as per NICE guidelines and are used to monitor how the child or young person is reacting to their medication.

Medication Review Clinics are completed by both nurses and doctors. We take height, weight and blood pressure at each appointment therefore the child or young person needs to be present. Changes cannot be made without regular follow ups and monitoring/examinations.

Initially, we need to see your child more frequently. After stabilization, we see your child less frequently.

Attendance at these clinics is compulsory because the medications are controlled medications

Our policy is that if you do not attend review clinics on two consecutive occasions, you will be discharged from the service and therefore unable to obtain medication. In this event, a re-referral to the service will be required from a relevant professional i.e GP, SENCo, Social Worker etc.
