The CAMHS Crisis Care Team is a multi-disciplinary team who provide support to children and young people presenting in crisis regarding self-harm, suicidal ideation and acute mental health difficulties.
The CAMHS Crisis Care Team primarily focuses upon supporting children and young people and their parents or carers to develop risk management plans during times of crisis to be safely managed in the community.
The CAMHS Crisis Team offer a dedicated crisis telephone line which aims to help children, young people, families and carers who are very worried about the mental health of anyone with a GP in Liverpool or Sefton up to their 18th Birthday. For support regarding presenting risks, children, families and professionals can contact the CAMHS Crisis Line to speak directly to a mental health practitioner.
If the young person is aged between 16 and up until 18th Birthday and require urgent or emergency mental health assessment then they would need to attend their local adult Emergency Department where our colleagues in MerseyCare will offer a review.
