The Community Children’s Dietetic Service works across the Liverpool and Sefton areas.
They provide up-to-date information and guidance about childhood nutritional matters to children, carers, professionals in contact with children, and a variety of patient support groups.
The community children’s dietetic service supports families and carers whose children require a special diet to ensure their nutritional needs are met. They provide ongoing support and monitoring as required.
The services work closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team to deliver a holistic care plan.
They see children in a variety of settings such as community clinics, nurseries, schools and in their own homes.
Referrals
Referrals to the community teams can be completed by their GP, hospital doctor, community doctor or by any other health professionals that are involved in the child’s care such as a health visitor, specialist nurse or school nurse.
