Our Sefton Community Speech & Language Therapy Services are currently offering face-to-face, telephone and video consultations to children and families working with us. Our Sefton community service works with children from the Sefton area who are experiencing difficulties with communication and/or eating and drinking. We provide assessment, advice and therapy, and have an open referral system with parental consent.
We work in collaboration with parents or carers and other professionals in a variety of settings, including clinics, schools, nurseries, and occasionally in the family home.

We can offer a full assessment of your child’s communication and language skills. Following this, you may be offered:
This will last approximately 30 to 60 minutes and will involve a discussion with you about your child’s development and an assessment of your child’s communication skills.
Assessment may include play, observation and looking at pictures and books where appropriate. Depending on the age of your child we may also carry out some formal assessments. We will discuss the outcome of the assessment with you, so that together we can decide on the best way to meet your child’s needs.

Referrals to the service can be made by downloading and completing our referral form, and returning to one of our main bases, listed below.
Please provide as much detail as possible about the child’s speech, language and communication needs and the impact on the child. All referrals received into the department are clinically triaged and accepted if there is enough detail about the need for assessment.
