Isobelle’s mum – Tracey – had been concerned about Isobelle’s head shape and size since she was very little but had been reassured that it was due to her being tall and slim with a head shape to match. A chance meeting with a nurse a couple of years later led Isobelle to Alder Hey. Nurse Naomi, who now works in rare advocacy, felt Isobelle had Sagittal Craniosynostosis, when certain bones in a child’s skull fuse prematurely, and that some of her behaviours including delayed speech, could be due to this.
Tracey contacted the craniofacial team at Alder Hey with pictures of her little girl and they immediately organised a referral from her GP.
We thank our lucky stars every day that we met Naomi and that Alder Hey are so supportive and proactive: we have been made to feel part of a very special family. Craniofacial Surgeon Mr Parks and the team presented us with all the information for Isobelle’s care with kindness, compassion, and professionalism.”

Tracey said: “ Our hopes for the future include resting in the comfort that Isobelle will get the best care for years to come, and she will grow to be healthy and happy; something every parent could only wish for.”
Isobelle is full of life, love, laughter, and smiles. She enjoys dancing and jumping as well as getting up to mischief with her big brother Charlie!
